2021 Internationals
The planned programme of internationals for 2021 was again severely disrupted by Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, and the annual Over 70 fixture with England in March did not even reach the planning stage. It became increasingly clear that the Four Nations Tournament planned for Southgate in May could not take place, and that cancellation was followed by the cancellation of the postponed 2020 World Cup in Tokyo.
The Celtic Cup was originally earmarked for June but, with restrictions beginning to ease, was moved to 27-29 August in Belfast. Scotland plans to send three teams: Over 60, Over 65 and Over 70.
